Sheffield Industrial Hearing

Sheffield Industrial Hearing provides Audiometry and information about hearing levels for those exposed to noise to enable employers to comply with The Control of Noise at Work Regulations 2005

The Control of Noise at Work Regulations 2005

The regulations came into force on the 6th April 2006 (for the music and entertainment sectors 6th April 2008) and provide details of how an employer should take action to protect their staff at work
The regulations provide new action values for daily noise exposure of 80dB and 85dB which have been reduced from the 1989 Noise Regulations by 5dB

Health Surveillance

Sheffield Industrial Hearing provides an Audiology service for companies who are required to carry out health surveillance under The Controlling Noise At Work Regulations 2005

Health Surveillance usually means regular hearing tests (Audiometry) for staff exposed to certain levels of noise

Sheffield Industrial Hearing aims to carry out it's work with minimal disruption to working practice. We can even perform Audiometry in the middle of the night prior to a morning shift if this suits your needs

Each member of staff being tested will have their ears examined (Otoscopy) and will have to answer a number of questions about their hearing. Results will be fully explained and advice will be given regarding hearing protection; where necessary a referral will be made to a medical practitioner for further management

As an employer you will be provided with a full report which includes Otoscopy, Audiometry and Hearing Questionnaire and also any advice given to your staff member
